6061 is one of the most common alloys of aluminum in use today and was first developed back in the 1930s. Originally known as ‘Alloy 61s’, 6061 is made today with over 95% aluminum along with major alloying elements magnesium and silicon. Its unique properties like strong corrosion resistance, excellent welding characteristics, and other good mechanical properties place our alloy 6061 coils in high demand.
Inquivix Technologies 6061 coils produced at our rolling facility can be delivered to the customer’s specified width, gauge, tempered grade, and surface coating. Apart from rolled coils, alloy 6061 is also commonly extruded, allowing us to deliver the products in the specific cross-sectional profile our customers require. 6061 coils with their excellent workability are used by our customers to manufacture everything from aircraft structures to aluminum cans.

FAQs
6061 alloy is made by adding magnesium and silicon as primary alloying elements to aluminum. It’s considered a versatile alloy of aluminum and is very popular due to its strength, corrosion resistance, workability, weldability, and availability in multiple tempering grades. It is not a dense material, making it very lightweight.
6061 coil is used in making aircraft structures such as wings, automotive chassis, yacht hulls, beverage cans, 3C product components, furniture, and various structural applications.
