The 1xxx series of aluminum alloys is considered a commercially pure wrought family, making 1050 one of the purest. Material Properties Of 1050 Aluminum Sheet

Moderate Strength

Being one of the purer aluminum alloys, 1050 does not have a high composition of alloying elements like other series to give it a high level of strength. This makes the 1050 alloy ideal for general sheet metal work where moderate strength is required. Our 1050 aluminum sheet products are not heat-treatable but can be hardened through cold-working. H14 is a popular temper that has improved tensile and yield strength.

Excellent Corrosion Resistance and Highly Reflective Finish

The 99.5% aluminum content gives the 1000 series alloy group including 1050 its high corrosion resistance. This makes 1050 a popular grade to manufacture chemical handling equipment, architectural flashings, road signs, and billboards. The reflective finish of the surface makes it useful for lighting equipment and lamp reflectors. Inquivix Technologies can also supply anodized aluminum sheet products for a more durable finish.

High Ductility and Weldability

Apart from its high corrosion resistance, 1050 is also very ductile. While it is not very good at machinability, it can be processed through many methods like forming, welding, brazing, and soldering.
